Easy to maintain
We recommend changing your filter once per year for residential customers, and every 6 months for commercial customers, so your Zip HydroTap system continues to perform at its best. Our MicroPurity filters are easy to change with a hygienic cartridge which can be purchased online.

As soon as water starts being filtered by our MicroPurity filter, the maximum life of the product is 12 months. After that, contaminants in your drinking water will start increasing as the filter performance declines, which is not always noticeable by taste. You may notice some changes to your HydroTap eg the internal tank inside the HydroTap command centre may start taking longer to fill.
Our MicroPurity 0.2 micron filtration is certified to reduce chlorine, taste, odour, bacteria, sediment and limescale in line with NSF 42 (aesthetic effects) and Watermark requirements. Zip MicroPurity filtration is also certified to deliver a reduction of 99.9% of cysts including cryptosporidium and giardia, and lead reduction of 98.9% to NSF 53 (health effects).
Fluoride, which is soluble, is not removed during filtration with Zip MicroPurity filtration. The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) recommends community water fluoridation as a safe, effective and ethical way to help reduce tooth decay.

Zip MicroPurity uses the latest filtration technology to filter and reduce impurities and potentially harmful contaminants larger than 0.2 microns in size – an impurity that will fit 250 times into a strand of hair.
When choosing a water filter for your Zip product, you need to ensure that it is certified to removing contaminants in your water. A compatible filter may fit into the command centre however if a performance claim is being made, make sure it is also tested and verified to AS/NZS 4348:1995 – this relates to performance testing – it is specific to filters, and it certifies and verifies that your filter will reduce impurities and potentially harmful contaminants. Zip is evolving the label design across our range of MicroPurity filters. The new look filters will start to appear in store, in new products and online from March 2024. As we transition, you may see both old and new versions of our Zip MicroPurity filters range. However, the triple action filtration technology inside the filters will not be changing, so you can feel confident purchasing our Zip genuine filters. See new page for more details.
