Making a difference, one community at a time.
Back in 2023, Zip Water in partnership with SOURCE Global, launched its first Water for Schools Project in Goodooga, NSW. That initial installation marked the beginning of a long‑term commitment to support remote communities in Australia with access to clean, reliable drinking water.
Building on that foundation, Zip has now delivered its second major installation at Alcoota Public School in Engawala, Northern Territory.
Alcoota has faced longstanding challenges with its drinking water, particularly high calcium levels in the local supply. To help address this, the team installed 10 HydroPanels, now providing safe drinking water to 30 students and more than 260 people across the wider Engawala community.
Louise Crawshaw, Human Resources Director for Zip Water and Culligan Australia, reflected on the significance of the project:
“I think this is more than a product. This is a way in which we can change lives and change lives for the better.”
For John Doumani, Chairman of Zip Global, the project represents something much bigger than the installation itself:
“It’s bigger than business. This is why we do what we do in Culligan and Zip Water. It’s about making a difference to people’s lives, giving them access to good quality drinking water but doing it in a sustainable way, eliminating plastic bottles.
We get up in the morning, and this is what we are about. This gives us great energy and great passion.”
The Alcoota installation forms part of the broader Water for Schools initiative, reinforcing Zip Water’s commitment to delivering water at its best for everyone, everywhere.
