Zip Water strengthens its commitment to sustainability with Ocean Impact Pitchfest sponsorship

 11 Aug 2021

Zip Water is pleased to announce that as part of its commitment to the reduction of plastic waste, it will be sponsoring this year’s Plastic Pollution Solution Spotlight Award at the 2021 Ocean Impact Pitchfest.

Now in its second year, The Ocean Impact Pitchfest is an initiative of OIO that aims to find, support, and accelerate start-ups and innovations that are transforming the health of the ocean.

This sponsorship closely aligns with Zip Water's goals to encourage more people to reduce their reliance on plastic bottles. It is currently helping consumers reduce their reliance on plastic bottles by providing clean, pure-tasting water in the home and workplace through its range of water solutions.

Zip Water President International, John Doumani said the sponsorship was a natural extension of Zip Water’s commitment to reducing plastic waste.

“Whether it’s looking after the planet or looking after the wellbeing of our people and community, Zip champions doing the right thing for a more sustainable world.

“Reducing plastic waste is central to Zip’s sustainability commitments, and we look forward to seeing innovative solutions to this challenge at this year’s PitchFest,” said Mr Doumani.

Applications are now open to start-ups and entrepreneurs working to improve the health of the ocean, with winners receiving a $10,000 cash prize and broad exposure across Ocean Impact Organisation’s (OIO) extensive network.

OIO Co-Founder Tim Silverwood said Zip Water was a natural choice for OIO.

“Zip’s sustainability goals align perfectly with our mission, and it’s great to see leading Australian innovators such as Zip Water support the next generation.”

Applications are open now and close on 21st September 2021.
