Zip Water’s new factory line is officially open! On Friday 23 August we were joined by New South Wales Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney – Stuart Ayres, and the Member for East Hills – Wendy Lindsay, at our factory in Condell Park to celebrate our manufacturing expansion and cut the ribbon on our new factory line.
The manufacturing expansion is the result of an important $6 million investment in our business. It means we can keep pace with growing domestic and international demand for our flagship product – Zip HydroTap.
We declare our new line officially open! New South Wales Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney – Stuart Ayres cuts the ribbon as the Member for East Hills – Wendy Lindsay, our President John Doumani and our sensational factory and warehouse team watch on.
The Condell Park factory is pivotal to our success, it’s where we innovate and create our world-leading instant boiling, chilled and sparkling filtered water systems, which are sought out in over 75 countries around the world – including new markets, the US and China.
Zip HydroTap has already proven popular among Americans – at this year’s Kitchen and Bathroom Industry Show in Las Vegas, the largest trade show of its kind in North America, Zip HydroTap was awarded ‘silver’ against over 600 entrants in the kitchen category.
The new factory line has expanded our testing capability delivering an unmatched quality of product for our customers, and our data collection capability for stronger research and development so we can continue to innovate and make our products even better.
Lead Engineer Golnaz Ashtari and Production Manager David Smith give Minister Ayres and Member of East Hills- Wendy Lindsay the full rundown on the new line
We have a history of market-firsts, creating the world’s first on-wall boiling water system in 1975, which made Zip a household name. Our latest innovation – Zip Micro – is our smallest drinking water system, catering for workplaces of up to 10 people and smaller kitchens in apartments.
Our investment means that manufacturing will remain in western Sydney for years to come which is great news for the more than 300 people we employ at our Condell Park site.
A true Zip love story. John and Mary Yankataya are into their third decade of marriage and have worked at Zip for 26 and 23 years respectively.
We couldn’t be prouder of our manufacturing expansion and are excited by the prospect of continuing to take our Australian-made innovation to the world.
