DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT
Although this home was referred to as the 'witch’s hat house' for its captivating period facade and historic turret, Woodstock Industries was careful to ensure that the renovated kitchen that it designed and built was as modern and progressive as possible. Therefore, it only added subtle features such as Shaker-style cabinets to reflect the original style of the home on Sydney’s Lower North Shore.

These homeowners frequently hold dinner parties and events at home with many guests, so their joinery design was focused on creating a space that is always ready for entertaining. They specified a Zip HydroTap All-In-One Celsius Arc in matte black for its innovative design and functionality – much needed when hosting parties, and ensuring that boiling, chilled, and sparkling filtered water is available for guests at the touch of a button and tap water for washing up.

DESIGN SOLUTIONS
As their previous kitchen was reasonably small, the clients requested that the kitchen’s original size was almost doubled to add an abundance of storage and an oversized island bench.  



The large island, designed as the centrepiece of the kitchen, accommodates up to seven bench seats and features a cooktop, oven, steam oven, and dishwasher. The island bench is made to look like it is ‘floating’ with a recessed base incorporating warm white LED lighting. 

A window splashback floods the space with light and looks out to a lush green wall to bring a hint of nature in. The beautifully crafted Shaker-style cabinetry is painted in Dulux Black and Whisper White, and the 70mm-thick benchtops are an added touch of luxury.

The client also made it clear that they wanted the kitchen to be as clutter-free as possible at all times, with lots of drawers and cupboards to hide appliances, cords, and other everyday items. The highly functional appliance cupboard features Hafele Hawa Concepta Pocket Doors to allow appliances and other kitchen items to be easily hidden from view – especially useful when hosting parties or events.

With their kitchen renovation complete, the clients are delighted with their new kitchen, and are now ready to entertain the masses at the drop of the hat.
