Energy-Efficient design at its best for the new ThyssenKrupp head-quarters
Following the opening of the ThyssenKrupp head-quarters in Essen in 2010 the campus has been extended with the addition of three almost identical office buildings. The design of the buildings is open and transparent, echoing the corporate architecture. Inside, the new buildings together provide space for about 1,000 staff. High energy efficiency was a criterion when selecting the building technology. In particular, the hot water supply via electronic instantaneous water heaters provides convenience along with low operating costs. Compact instant water heaters are fitted in the kitchens and MCX 7 mini instantaneous water heaters at the basins in the washrooms. In addition, 30 Zip HydroTap® Sparkling drinking water systems in the pantries supply boiling water, chilled drinking water and even carbonated water if required, straight from the tap.
